Musician Edrisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo has reacted to his senior presidential advisor appointment for the first time. President Museveni named the singer as the senior presidential advisor on the creatives.
Since then a lot of people have reacted to this news both negatively and positively.
The BET Award winner also held a press conference to talk about this milestone. He said that most people underlook people of his caliber, those who have grown up in the ghetto. However, it’s a great pleasure that the President sees it the other way around.
Where does this leave UNMF?
Kenzo was asked if he will stay as the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation. Or if he will resign to concentrate on his new job. The singer said that he will stay as the leader of the UNMF because the two jobs don’t contradict and aim for the same thing.
The singer said that before blaming the President for not helping the entertainment industry, they have to point fingers at themselves.
The Big Talent boss believes that there is a lot the industry has to streamline before crying foul of not being helped. He pointed out that big musicians used to visit the President years ago.
However, instead of advancing the interests of the industry, they always pushed selfish interests. But when he was invited to meet the President, it was the other way round.
Kenzo said that Museveni asked him why he does songs to incite the youths instead of rallying them to add something valuable to their nation.
The Stamina singer claimed that he told the President point blank that ‘they got tired of him.’ This was in front of military generals. The talk that followed later humbled him and he ended up deciding to work with the President.
