Erias Lukwago To Swear In Today As Kampala Lord Mayor

Erias Lukwago is set to swear in today as Kampala Lord Mayor again. Lukwago swept the votes of Kampala so easily. He got 194,592 votes in the recently held elections, almost doubling all those of his counterparts.

People had anticipated that NUP’s Nabilla would put up a fight but it was only in words. Kampala community seems to hold their Mayor in high regard.

This is going to be Lukwago’s third term in office. He was first voted as Mayor in 2011. So all together these will be 15 years in power. The inauguration ceremony is to rake place at the city hall in. So far, the ceremony looks colorful, beautifully decorated.

People have however criticized how extravagant it looks. They argue that this is the same thing that was witnessed as Museveni swore in office.

“Wow! The level of waste is unfathomable. You can hardly believe this is an opposition led council that should rein in on such wastage.”

“The other day he was complaining about the 7 billion for the president’s swearing in , is his free?”

Most people are asking for the difference between opposition and the in government. According to them, wastage levels are the same much as opposition keeps making noise about Museveni’s government.

Regardless of all this anyway, the ceremony is going to happen and by the end of today we are going to have a Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago in Kampala in his full capacity.
