The Lock singer denied allegations that most are joining it for the money.
It was rumored that these musicians earn Shs 5m whenever they meet. Fik however said that it’s not the case. He’s joining the Federation to further the copyright law.
Apparently for his case, he’s one of the biggest stakeholders in the music industry with lots of hit songs. However, he doesn’t have the money to show off for his hard work. Therefore, he wants to spearhead addressing the loopholes in the copyright law.
“I’m not joining UNMF for the money. I just want to spearhead the copyright law. I’m one of the biggest singers and have the biggest songs. However, my finances don’t reflect this. Therefore, I think that the UNMF is the best platform to address this issue,” the singer said.
It should be recalled that UNMF was unveiled a few weeks ago under the chair of the PM, Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja. A number of high-profile musicians are in the stewardship of the Federation.
This has an objective of fighting for the common cause of musicians in Uganda. With every day that passes by, renowned musicians and stakeholders are joining it. And this is something that has boosted it.
