Fik Fameika Also Speaks Up On Infringement Of Artistes Content

The issue of copyright has recently go another artist talking. Local singer, Fik Fameika and others seem to have started ganging up against local websites and music distribution channels that don’t pay for their content.

Rapper Fik Fameika partially supported and rejected the issue at the same time. This all follows when a week back, singer APass ordered that all local websites that have his music but don’t pay him to have it deleted soon as they read his tweet.

Musicians such as rapper GNL Zamba, Eddy Kenzo among other people in the arts came out to support this. They said websites enjoy the benefits of their sweat without paying a cent.

The “Buligita” rapper while talking to a local TV in an interview said that although he was in support of this decision, he was in no hurry to implement it.

Fik Fameika went ahead to say that some artists had followed A Pass’ decision due to a bandwagon effect. He, however, doesn’t entertain such.

He also noted that all decisions to do with his music career are decided upon by his management. Not him as an individual.

“I don’t do things because APass has said so. He is my brother but his decision is personal. He didn’t speak for all of us. I don’t do bandwagon. When I get to a point and want to go down this road, I will make a statement on my social media and let everyone know. For now, I haven’t thought about it,” Fik Fameica noted.

The rapper also opened up about local awards which have of recent been received with mixed reactions among fans and musicians.

He says that he always feels cheated whenever he’s nominated for an award but doesn’t walk back home with it. He feels he’s the best artist.
