The unfortunate incident that claimed Bafaki’s life happened along the Northern Bypass in Kampala at around 3am Wednesday morning.
Bafaki was apparently heading to his home in Naalya. He was returning from his home district where he attended the Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s birthday celebrations that happened in the district yesterday.
He had also been part of the organizing committee of these Muhoozi celebrations dubbed the ‘homecoming celebrations.’ These will be held in Mbarara this month.
Bafaki was born on November 9, 1976 as Gordon Tumwiine Bafaki. He’s been a politician, businessman and a professional classroom teacher. He was 48 years by the time of his death.
Additionally, he rose to the Kazo Parliamentary seat in 2016 after replacing former Works and Transport, Hon John Nasasira. Bafaki was also however deposed from the same seat by Dan Kimosho in 2021.
The deceased attended Ntambazi primary school in Kazo before joining Kanoni Secondary School for his O’Level education. He attained his A-level at Standard High School Zzana and Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Makerere University.
His death has stunned Kazo residents after he was on Kazo FM rallying people from Kazo to turn up in huge numbers for the Muhoozi celebrations.
“I want to urge the young people to embrace Muhoozi because he is defending our generational interests,” he said while appearing on radio yesterday.
