Gareth Bale agreed to a one-year deal which will see him return to his former club which he left seven years ago. This is a huge signing for the team that is also signing Real Madrid’s left-back Sergio Reguilon in a €25m deal. Tottenham hopes to announce both deals on Friday.
However, Tottenham was rebuffed by Southampton which made inquiries for Danny Ings while chasing a striker as Kane’s backup.
Bale leaves Madrid with claims from the club’s president Ramon Calderon that the Wales forward’s time finishes in disappointments. These claims are disapproved by Bale’s Champion’s League wins four times as he struggled in Cristiano Ronald’s shadow.
‘’I think it’s been a pity. He came with the handicap that we paid for him more than for Ronaldo and that meant that he was under scrutiny all the time,’’ Calderon said.
He said everyone thought Gareth Bale would turn out better than Ronaldo on top of having many injuries and being unlucky. Calderon thinks it is the best option for everyone and for Tottenham and says the English team is lucky to have Bale.
People, however; think the player and the club’s president didn’t get along too well hence his remarks. But they are all speculations.
