This has actually not gone down well with a huge section of the public who accuse these artistes and the government of squandering taxpayers money.
Lanek took to the street dressed weirdly with his head sprinkled with white chalk-like substance. He started wailing and pleading with Gen Saleh to call him too to meet him.
Lanek said that the Gen has called secular artistes and promoters but has never bothered to call the gospel ones.
He was meanwhile reading scriptures to support his argument on why the general should call him too.
“Gen Saleh why don’t you call us too. You have called all the secular artistes and promoters to Gulu. I want you to call me too to Gulu to meet you. If we did anything wrong as gospel musicians, please tell us we repent. We are a registered federation and besides, we don’t need a lot of money like those secular artistes.” Lanek said.
This was a comical moment as he was not expected to be so desperate to such an extent.
It should be noted that a few months back Lanek almost exchanged blows with fellow gospel singer Exodus at NBS studios. Exodus accused Lanek of describing himself as the president of gospel artistes yet he’s not the one. The Igwe singer even said Lanek is not a gospel artiste because he has no music.
This saw motor-mouthed Wisdom Kaye come out to say that Lanek is a schemer who wants to defraud Gen Saleh.
He promised that if Saleh falls for this bait and calls him to Gulu, Kaye would go with a jerrycan of petrol and burn down Lanek.
