The ministry of health confirmed that the process will also affect the pharmacies whereby they will give out medicine to those with national ID’s
And to those young ones without national ID they will be attended to using their parents or relative’s national ID.
The communication manager of the ministry of health Vivian said the main reason as to why the gov’t is introducing this mechanism is to improve on accountability.
The mechanism will also help in capturing patient details for easy follow up and better service delivery,” Vivian said.
She further said that this process will be effective after some time because of the fact that national ID registration was not done fully.
Gov’t hospitals aside, Government institutions have also insisted on paying salaries to workers and service providers on condition that one holds a national ID.
