Government To Offer Public Universities With Free Internet Connectivity

News that reached our desk indicates that the Ugandan Government is in preparations to excite students by offering free internet to all Public Universities and government agencies across the country.

However, while addressing the 5th edition and launching the National Conference on Communications, Tumwebaze Frank, the Minister of Information Computer Technology (ICT), declared that he has a proposal in plan that was forwarded to the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

Therefore, Hon Tumwebaze confirmed the provision of free internet and Wi-Fi for education institutions and government agencies while in a conference that was held at Makerere University, Kampala.

This program was aimed at sustaining and making it easier for students to save time when it comes to their studies. This will further help University Students to develop more ICT related programs without complaining about the Internet.

In fact, this is going to help a big number of students out there especially those doing ICT related courses to become entrepreneurs by developing software products that might create solutions for challenges of humanity.
