Government Should Compensate Artistes – Omulangira Suuna

The legendary singer Omulangira Suuna requests the government to help musicians, comedians, drama actors and others because they are struggling with debts.

Omulangira Suuna ‘s cry out goes through fellow singers Bebe Cool and Catherine Kusasira who are closely able to reach President Yoweri Museveni. His asks the government to compensate them like how other countries are trying to do so.

Artists are very broke; we seriously need help. We are no longer performing, we don’t have money and events may take long to resume. We lost a lot of money during Easter period. How are we going to survive? If you look at our neighboring countries like Kenya and the rest, they  compensated artists because they understand the value of art. This government should critically look at this issue because we are very essential,” he said.

Now the question remains, should artistes be compensated for the losses they made during Easter season? . That will at least solve and shade off their tears.
