Gwanga Mujje: UMA Speaks Out On Jose Chameleone’s Cancelled Concert

The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) has stood firm with one of its members Jose Chameleone. This came after he faced challenges of heavy downpour a few hours before his Gwanga Mujje concert.

The storm put down everything that was set up for this concert. Consequently, with some of the people that were building the stage being injured, Jose Chameleone decided to postpone the Gwanga Mujje concert.

As an Association for all artistes, UMA released a full statement sympathizing with Jose Chameleone. They said they are happy with him considering everyone’s safety in the situation.

“The Uganda Musicians Association expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the injured technical personnel from Fenon Entertainment. And extends our best wishes for a speedy recovery. We are deeply saddened by the news of the destruction of the stage at Lugogo Cricket Oval, which was set to host the much-anticipated concert of our dear colleague, Jose Chameleone.

We stand in solidarity with Chameleone and the entire music fraternity during this difficult time. The safety and well-being of all concert-goers and technical personnel is of utmost importance to us. We commend Fenon Entertainment for their swift response in ensuring the safety of all involved…” the statement reads in part.

UMA further reassured the public that the music industry in Uganda remains strong. They also added that they are committed to working together to ensure that events like these do not impact the livelihoods of their members.

The association also extended their gratitude to the authorities for their swift response in handling the situation.
