Tycoon Hamis Kiggundu Furious With KCCA Workers For Destroying Palm Trees In The City

City tycoon Hamis Kiggundu has come out to question the patriotism of Ugandans after a video of KCCA employees surfaced on social media destroying palm trees that were planted along the different Kampala streets.

These were seen uprooting the trees and loading them onto a truck which later drove off.

Hamis Kiggundu took to social media and wondered why they were destroying and poisoning these trees. Additionally, he said that a lot of money was put into planting and maintaining these trees.

Apparently, the tycoon is one of those who contributed to the purchase and maintenance of these trees. The moneybags wondered where the patriotism is before saying that it would take a long time to develop the country without loving it.

Furthermore, the business mogul pointed out that these trees were planted under the watch and supervision of the KCCA officials. It’s, therefore, a shock to him that they are removing them now.

Read his rant below;

“It’s really sad seeing these KCCA employees poisoning and destroying these palm trees….. Where is the patriotism….. We spent a lot of money and time… buying, donating, planting, and maintaining these royal palm trees across the entire city under their watch and supervision…. With such punitive acts unprosecuted, we have a long way to develop as a Country… For God and My Country,” he wrote on his social media pages.

This also comes when many people who built in or around swamps are having their houses demolished by NEMA. Some of them argue that they built their houses after consulting the environmental management authority and it cleared them.

However, it’s a shock that their structures have been demolished or have been marked for demolition.
