It Will Take Decades To Fix Kampala City Potholes – Minister Kyofatogabye

The Minister of Kampala City Kabuye Kyofatogabye has dealt a huge blow to city residents who have been complaining about the gigantic and disturbing potholes in the City.

According to the Minister, Kampala has about 2100km of roads. So far there are only 500km of roads that are in good condition. The other 1600 need to be repaired, rehabilitated or reconstructed.

Meanwhile, the maximum they can fix in one year is 100km. And this is also a miracle because most contractors can’t do it. Therefore, he urged Ugandans to have strategic patience and wait as government tries to fix this problem.

“Kampala has about 2100km of roads. There are about 500km with good roads and the rest are in need of attention either by rehabilitation, reconstruction or repair. In a year, the most and after straining ourselves that we can do is 100km. So when you divide the 1500-1600km of roads that need to be done by 100km that we can do annually, you see that we need about 15-16 years to make all the roads proper. Therefore, I urge all citizens to have some strategic patience,” said the Minister.

Blames opposition social media campaigns.

Furthermore, Hon Kabuye also lambasted the social media campaign that was recently publicizing Kampala potholes. He called all those who participated in it marrow-minded.

He said that these were influenced by the lord mayor, Erias Lukwago to cover up for his failures for the past 13 years in office.

According to this Minister, the opposition politicians want the living conditions to remain the same. This is the only way they can score political points.

With Kabuye being in office, Lukwago figured out that he wouldn’t achieve anything as the minister had a strategic plan to fix the City.
