KCCA In Plans To Demolish Hamis Kiggundu’s Multi-Billion Mansion

The founder and CEO of Ham enterprises Hamis Kiggundu might loose his expensive multi-billion mansion located near Lake Victoria. It is alleged that KCCA, is in plans to demolish his house.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) officials claim that Hamis Kiggundu’s multi-billion mansion was built near Lake Victoria and it’s among the structures that are supposed to be pulled down because of poor planning.

The discussion took place on Friday by an Environmental Officer at KCCA called Ssentaba, who was on the assessment tour on the structures that might be affected by the rising water levels in Lake Victoria.

“During our tour, we have realized that many permanent structures were put up illegally. They didn’t get permission from KCCA and they are the reason why Lake Victoria is retaliating. No permanent structures are allowed to be built within 200 metres near water bodies. So we are going to demolish them and we shall not compensate owners,” noted Ssetenda.

In his words, he claimed that the businessman Hamis Kigunddu is soon loosing his house located in Kawuku.

“We warned Ham when he was constructing that house that he was putting up illegally but he turned a deaf ear.He knows very well that his house is there illegally. We are going to get in touch with NEMA so that we demolish all the illegal structures near the lake,” said Ssetenda.
