This followed Bobi Wine’s appearance on BBC in the UK where he was asked about his stand on the Anti Homosexuality law in Uganda. According to Kyagulanyi, this was introduced by Museveni to target him and other opposition leaders.
Furthermore, he was questioned why his MPs from NUP voted for it overwhelmingly to which he said that some of his MPs work with Museveni.
Apparently, Hon Bumali Mpindi said that if Bobi Wine thinks his MPs work with the President, then he has no MPs.
“Kyagulanyi failed to get a handler. Someone should advise him on what to say and how to say it. If Kyagulanyi says his MPs are working with Museveni, that means he no longer has MPs.”
Besides NUP member and MP Hon Abed Bwanika said that he doesn’t support homosexuality nor does NUP Kyagulanyi. This is because no policy supports the practice in their party.
This seems like a factor that threatens the National Unity Platform. And it’s always used to put the political party on the spot.
Kyagulanyi, being heavily reliant on foreigners in his struggle, is careful not to upset them. At the same time, he knows the impacts back home if he concedes to support the LGBTQ community.
When they asked about his Burn Dem lyrics which got him burned from the UK for 10 years, Bobi Wine said that he was still young while recording the song.
