I Call Upon Leaders To Maintain Water Channels In Our Ghettos – Barbie Kyagulanyi

Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi, the wife to the Kyadondo East Member of parliament and Musician Bobi Wine has predicted that we are soon going to experience heavy rains in the country which might affect people especially in the ghetto areas.

Barbie took to her Facebook page and shared a statement calling upon leaders in their respective categories to consider maintaining drainages within Kampala mainly the ghetto areas before the heavy rains start.

”The room Taata and I had been living in was being turned into a state of the art music studio and we were asked to shift to the one next door. This “new” room had a leaking roof and during this period, not so many music shows were happening because as is the norm, we have fewer shows during the rainy season. Do you see those dark clouds in the sky telling us we may get rain this afternoon? I saw them this morning and this sight took me back to the days of that leaking room. Water from the roof and floods from the streets chose to converge in it. Rain came at night and I always wondered why! We did not sleep when it rained at night. We were pre-occupied with pushing the floods back to the streets in the wee hours of the night.

When I see floods on the streets after a shower, I automatically know who is going to suffer the rage of this sewage combined with rain floods.
The rainy season seems to be coming soon and the water rage will be unleashed on our people mainly those living in the ghettos. My call goes to our leaders representing people living in these areas.

Please check on the drainage systems. With mantainance of the water channels in our ghettos, we will have less damage caused by these floods.

Clean water channels and collect the garbage in them. Abakulembeze, bambi mutuyambeko mugogole emyala enkuba kilabika ejja,’said Barbie Kyagulanyi.
