He said some people cooked up these charges on which they convicted him in South Africa with an aim of tarnishing his name.
The Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) Regional Court convicted Micho on two accounts of sexual assault. Apparently, he committed the crimes while he took charge of the Zambian national team.
Following the judgment, the court found it fit that coach Micho serves up to two separate three-year jail sentences. They have however suspended both sentences for five years.
In a statement, the Serbian national described the charges as those meant to soil his good name.
‘’These reports are premised on a well-orchestrated plot of some devious and malicious, faceless people hell-bent at tarnishing my name and using all means to set me up and cause humiliation to my image,’’ Micho said in a statement.
According to the court, the incidents took place in December 2020 during the regional COSAFA U20 cup.
Apparently, Micho inappropriately touched a 39-year-old woman that had been delivering coffee. However, the Serbian tactician denied all these charges despite the court finding him guilty.
Even though he claims they made up these accusations, he subjected himself to the South African authorities. He said he has since appealed against the conviction as well as the resultant sentence.
