Publicist, Ibrahim Bbosa, has announced his departure from the Uganda Revenue Authority, having headed the Public and Corporate Affairs Division for almost three years. Serving as the URA Spokesperson since late 2021, Bbossa has played a crucial role in steering the organization’s public-facing projects amid a time of substantial change under Commissioner General John R. Musinguzi’s direction.
The guiding principles of this reform have been ethics, professionalism, and patriotism.
Being fully transparent and accountable to all URA stakeholders, Bbossa has been a major supporter of socially conscious business practices.
His rapid responses to questions on digital media platforms and his willingness to extend the same level of responsiveness to media queries won him favor with the media. This also helped URA become more accessible to the general public.
Bbossa handled a number of projects during his time in office. These include; the Mpa E-Receipt Yange campaign, which encouraged Ugandans to use electronic receipts.
Along with spearheading URA’s digital communication renaissance, he also established URA TV for digital broadcasting and strengthened the organization’s online presence through innovative communication strategies.
Bbossa combined public relations initiatives with tax education since she understood how important it was. He effectively turned the tax education program into a full-fledged division, leaving behind a highly skilled team with the know-how to get the word out to every family in Uganda about tax education.
Bbosa’s previous roles;
Prior to this, he held positions as Principal Marketing Officer at the Uganda National Bureau of Standards. He was also Head Public and International Relations at the Uganda Communications Commission.
Bbosa was also a Marketing Specialist at the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Corporate Fundraising Officer at the Uganda Red Cross Society, and Lecturer at the Islamic University of Uganda.
Ibrahim Bbosa holds a master’s degree in communications management from the University of Rwanda and is a Chevening Fellow. He also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the Islamic University of Uganda.
This is where he was later hired as a lecturer. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in marketing from the London School of Marketing.
