Joyce Bagala has said she was not satisfied with the court’s verdict regarding her election. She adds that she doesn’t understand why the judge ruled in Nabakooba’s favor.
“I was not satisfied. I don’t know why he [the judge] decided the way he decided but it was obvious, many lawyers have looked at the judgment and it is outrageous. So I was not satisfied with the court ruling,” Joyce Bagala.
Regardless of this, she says she will not be appealing but rather she is ready for the fresh elections. She emphasized that for her, the costs involved in all this doesn’t matter because the struggle has to go on.
She actually advised people not to concentrate on the costs involved in this but rather keep their eyes on the struggle.
“If you want justice, we shall pursue justice. Why do you want me to be more worried about the cost than justice?”
Bagala said she is not only ready for the election but also ready to win. Their intention as NUP in this election is to expose the rot in the government system apparently.
“I am ready for both. I said this is a struggle, the struggle to save all institutions of this country from the junta. We will pursue all the legal avenues to get justice and I am sure that I will win the by-election. We have been telling you all the time that we want to expose the rot in the system and we are doing everything possible.”
She said all this while in an interview with journalists who wanted to know how ready she is regarding the forthcoming by-election.
