Promoter Juma Balunywa Reveals Why The Relationship Between Weasel And Nobat Deteriorated

One of the veteran and well-known promoters in the country Juma Balunywa has revealed why the relationship between singer Weasel and events promoter Nobat Events deteriorated after the Memories of Goodlyf concert.

Weasel beat up Nobat claiming the promoter was yet to pay him. On the other hand, the promoter said that he had incurred a lot of costs in the show and didn’t even earn anything. The two are still embroiled in a fracas.

However, Balunywa blamed all this on the lack of expertise from Nobat in organizing concerts. According to Nobat, he spent over 300m shillings on this show.

Balunywa however thinks this is too high if his promoter is not exaggerating the price. He also said that both the singer and promoter needed each other and nobody helped the other.

“Promoter Nobat’s lack of expertise in organizing events was the reason why the cost of organizing Weasel’s Concert was insanely expensive for him. Weasel and Promoter Nobat needed each other, nobody helped the other.’

Additionally, Balunywa said that the Government is fighting them and doesn’t want them to regulate their job. He went ahead to say that as promoters, they also have a code of conduct that guides them.

However, this has been abused by some of their fellow promoters such as Abitex. And this has proved to be a problem in the lack of unity to front their grievances.

“Promoter Abtex was the first to break the United National Events Promoters Association ethical conduct when he organized Alien Skin’s Concert on the same day with Pallaso.”
