In protest, the satirical presidential candidate staged a sit-down strike, saying he wouldn’t leave unless the police allow him to speak to his people.
“No, no, no. I’m not going anywhere. In fact, let me even sit here,” he sat on a stone in the middle of the taxi park as people cheered him on.
A police officer then approached Katumba and said, “not here”.
“Why not here?” Katumba retorted.
Turning to his supporters, Katumba defiantly declared: “That’s why I have sat on the stone. I’m not going anywhere. There is a town here and I must address my people in this town,” he insisted.
He was, however, forcefully evicted from the district to Busia town by the men in no-nonsense uniformed guys.
John Katumba is the youngest of all presidential Candidates in the 2021 elections list and perhaps the funniest one too. He has pulled quite a number of stunts ever since his nominations. From running on foot to the nominations grounds, to walking while being followed by his body guards in a car.
He has also made quite some really funny statements that make many refer to him as a high school head prefect contestant.
He comes off to many as a daily dose of laughter in this times where Covid-19 coupled with riots have made everyone scared.
