UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer Discusses Ukraine’s Use Of Long-Range Missiles With US President Joe Biden

UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer refrained from confirming any decision regarding Ukraine’s potential use of long-range missiles to target Russia following discussions with US President Joe Biden in Washington.

During the talks, the leaders addressed various global issues, including the conflict in Ukraine, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific. The White House expressed apprehension over Iran and North Korea providing lethal weapons to Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin cautioned against allowing Ukraine to launch long-range missiles towards Russia, citing it as direct NATO involvement in the conflict.

Despite Ukrainian President Zelensky’s appeals for authorization, the US and UK have not granted permission for such actions to avoid escalation.

Prioritizing action and diplomacy in global conflicts

Ahead of the meeting, President Biden dismissed concerns about Putin and emphasized the importance of focusing on resolving the war in Ukraine through practical actions.

Sir Keir Starmer and Joe Biden also discussed the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and other global regions.

In response to escalating tensions, the US imposed new sanctions on the Russian media outlet RT, accusing it of being linked to Russia’s intelligence operations. RT’s editor-in-chief and Russian officials responded with defiance and criticism towards the US actions.
