The ministry of health in Uganda confirmed that the second patient is truly a Ugandan who also normally operates on Kampala – Mombasa route and entered the country early this week.
A Kenyan truck driver, 27, tested positive for the deadly virus and he was among the total number of 372 truck drivers whose samples were tested on Tuesday (yesterday). Ministry of health officials collected his sample upon arrival at Malaba border on Monday.
He will definitely be returned to Kenya for treatment, ‘said Ugandan MOH.
The second patient is a Ugandan truck driver from Tororo District who also arrived in Uganda from Kenya on Monday. His sample was collected upon arrival at Malaba border point. However, he didn’t show signs and symptoms of coronavirus,’part of the statement reads.
Both of these patients were among the 625 people tested on Tuesday. 372 samples were truck drivers at the border entry points across the country.
This simply means that coronavirus positive cases in Uganda have increased to 55.
