The State Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Rtd Col Charles Engola was also murdered in the same area. Just a few days later, a social media blogger was also gunned down by an anonymous hitman.
Not forgetting that the late police AIGP Felix Kaweesi was murdered in Kulambiro. Minister for transport Gen Katumba Wamala also survived an assassination attempt which claimed his daughter in Kulambiro. Kulambiro is just the next of kin to Kyanja.
Since these incidents, the public has been raising concerns about Kyanja. In fact, some have marked it as a red flag as one of the areas to live in because of the rising insecurity.
However, the area LC1 chairman said that these are just out of hand small cases.
He said that as the area, they had no problem with Isma as their resident. The blogger’s clashes were on social media.
On top of that Kyanja consists of over 50,000 people. Therefore, these segregated cases shouldn’t scare anyone from deciding to live there.
However, he added that in case one has people putting a price on their head, there isn’t much they can do since they are also not aware.
Kyanja and the areas surrounding it such as Kisasi, Komamboga, Kira among others have in the past turned into a breed of guns and insecurity.
For the fact that they are filled with wealthy and dignified people, it makes the areas an easy target.
