The Lakers, listless and uninspired, meandered through the sloppy first half in Game 4 of the NBA finals. They then found a purpose in the second half both on defense and offense securing the win over the Heat in regular time, 102-96.
This means the Lakers lead the series 3-1 needing only one more win to be crowned the NBA champions.
LeBron James had a slow start in the first half but he managed to come alive in the second scoring 20 of his 28 points in the second half. He also had 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Anthony Davis finished the game with 22 points and 9 rebounds.
The Lakers are on the verge of their first championship since 2010 and their 17th overall. If they win this, they will be tied with the Boston Celtics for most championships in NBA history.
LeBron James is working for his fourth championship in his career and third with three teams.
As hard as it will be for Miami to stop LeBron and the Lakers, beating the Heat won’t be as easy for the Lakers as well. However much Miami Heat is injury-stricken, they are well-coached and have enough talent to extend the series.
‘’We are continuing to grow our understanding of the Miami Heat. Their offensive system is very complicated and difficult to guard,’’ Lakers coach said.
