Magufuli Announced Dead, Tanzania To Mourn for 14 days

Tanzania’s president, John Pombe Magufuli has died. The president apparently succumbed to heart failure. The Vice President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, announced and also declared a 14 day mourning period. He apparently died at 6 pm yesterday evening as he received treatment.

There have been rumours for some days now that Magufuli had contracted Coronavirus. People had not seen the president in public for a period of two weeks. Raising suspicion and speculations. Just this week, four people were arrested for allegedly spreading this rumour. The government forced the newspaper that published this news to apologize and even change the story to the public.

President Magufuli made a lot of news during the height of coronavirus. He was very controversial about it and even denied its existence. The president actually stopped the media from tallying covid results saying the county should move on. He opened the whole economy and everything ran as normal but in the presence of SOPs.

The death of Magufuli, however, has taken part in making history, Easy African is going to register the very first female president. Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan will be taking over as President as the constitution states.
