According to Diamond, president John Pombe Magufuli was doing the right thing all along not to put Tanzania into a total pandemic lockdown because it does not a guarantee that people won’t be infected with the deadly virus, but it will instead damage the country’s economic activities.
The ‘Inama’ hit maker further noted that countries shouldn’t do the same things like what others in US and Europe are doing, but should come up with solutions that best fits their nation.
The Tanzanian president refused to place his country under any form of confinement; he instead decided to apply other measures such as fumigation.
