Man Kills Wife, Two Children And Buries Them In Backyard

Kampala police has begun looking into the circumstances under which a man killed his wife and two children and buried them in the backyard.

The police recovered three bodies after getting information from a one Sylvia Nankya. Nankya is a social worker at a children’s home and only quoted the words of a 16-year-old girl.

The girl is the daughter of the suspect, Fizal Muwanguzi who tortured her hence her ending up at the children’s home.

According to the young girl, her father killed her mother, Mariam Muwanguzi Nabukenya, 33.

“The child was immediately brought to the Police and with the help of professionals, she informed the officers that her mother who was supposed to say bye to them before going for Kyeyo as a domestic worker, never returned the morning of departure,” Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said.

Apparently, the juvenile revealed that their father made them dig up the backyard the day their mother left. This happened before Fizal’s arrest for torturing his daughter.

She said that she noticed a heap of soil around the ditch she had previously dug. This led her to conclude that Fizal could have buried her mother in it.

The police immediately went to the scene, dug up the ditch and exhumed three bodies that had started decomposing.

The bodies are suspected to be of Muwanguzi Nabukenya Mariam 33, Muwanguzi Mukisa 2 years and Muwanguzi Ngabo, 3 months. The two children are suspected to be the missing children of the suspect Faizal.

“The motive of the murder is still unknown. However, according to the surviving child, her parents started having issues when Mariam informed her husband that she intended to go and work abroad as a domestic worker. It is alleged that this infuriated Faizal who physically abused her for trying to leave him with all their children alone,” Luke Owoyesigyire said.

According to neighbors, the suspect never associated with anyone from the neighborhood. He even couldn’t allow the deceased wife to talk to anyone.

Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said the three bodies have been conveyed to the Mulago city mortuary as investigations continue.

Police will prefer additional charges of murder on Faizal Muwanguzi. He is currently on remand for aggravated torture of his 16year old child.
