However, it’s been over a decade since she last did music actively and she’s opened up why this is so.
According to Ndagire, she decided to concentrate more on her film career where she’s also a legend. On top of that, she’s more into developing young talents nowadays.
She revealed that she started up a celebrity night where she brings up one singer and unveils them to the world. According to her, she doesn’t charge any money from them.
This is because she wasn’t charged anything while getting in the industry. It’s therefore satisfying that she gives back to the place that made her.
Additionally, the Kiki Onvuma singer talked about the current trend of music. According to her, it’s a self-destructive journey most of these musicians are on and it’s sad to see them take this route. That’s why she decided to mentor these artistes.
Mariam Ndagire said that when one does vulgar music, it can trend for some time but eventually the blasphemies run out and they revert to faded musicians. And these songs will always haunt them because technology doesn’t forget.
“It’s sad to see what our young musicians have resorted to. They can sing these obscenities and trends but eventually, they run out. You can’t recycle the same obscenities over and over again. I know of a singer who decided to sing vulgar music repeatedly and he’s now nowhere to be seen,” she said.
