The accident occurred last evening at Kavule village, Kiringente sub-county, Mpigi district.
The acting Katonga Regional Police Spokesperson Joseph Tulya confirmed the accident. He said the three vehicles involved in the accident are a bus belonging to Baby Coaches, Fuso truck and trailer
Among the deceased, police identified the turn man of the Fuso truck. Unfortunately, he died on the spot. They then admitted the driver to a hospital immediately.
He had a severed arm and the other victims were traveling aboard the Baby Coach bus. An eyewitness said the incident happened after the Fuso truck collided with the bus.
Tulya further told journalists that they are yet to establish the identity of the deceased persons. He also cautioned drivers to always take precautionary measures when driving on major highways in order to save life and property.
In just one month, police have registered over eight fatal accidents on this highway. The most recent one happened on Sunday and claimed 10 lives.
Police have also intensified operations to help curb the number of accidents on the road.
