Maurice Kirya who stars in the movie as Patrick Asiimwe couldn’t hide the excitement. He took to his Twitter page to reveal the pleasant reviews he was receiving from fans worldwide.
The Busabala singer was also grateful to the directors for casting him and his fellow costars.
“What a day it is for me, my phone can’t stop blowing up, thank you all for the love and amazing response, big thanks to all the crew and cast! #thegirlintheyellowjumper now on #Netflix,” Kirya tweeted.
Ugandans as well as other movie fans across the world have showed massive appraisal of the movie.
“This is a movie I will tell my children that it was the first of its kind and made in Uganda #TheGirlInTheYellowJumper,” one of the fans of the movie said.
“I gave them benefit of doubt and they delivered compared to the other Ugandan content I’ve watched in the past. We shall get there slowly,” another said.
“So, in #TheGirlInTheYellowJumper film, a lady wearing a bright yellow jumper is a notorious serial killer who kidnaps & kills pple in Uganda? Then, she has an accomplice in @PoliceUg? Add to this a scene with @HEBobiwine music playing for several seconds & his name mentioned…” another said.
Produced by the young Ugandan film producer, Loukman Ali, this movie has broken barriers. It has surely unearthed the potential the local film industry possesses.
This is not the first film that shows the potential of Ugandan film or Loukman Ali.
The young man has produced other mesmerizing films which are mainly feature films such as 16 rounds which also did well.
According to reviews and movie experts, this movie is expected to continue soaring higher. The movie’s plot is about a man watching television who is dragged and taken hostage.
He manages to escape and returns home with the most unbelievable story to tell. You may just need to watch it to get the point.
