MC Kats Excited As A Breakthrough Is Announced In The Search Of HIV Cure

TV personality MC Kats has expressed his excitement as a breakthrough has been made towards finding a cure for the deadly sexually transmitted disease HIV.

Clinical trials of a new therapy are about to get underway to test a new Israeli medicine that has wiped away 97% of the HIV virus in laboratory samples.

Reports have it that it took just 8 days for the experimental drug called Gamora to kill infected cells in blood taken from patients in Israel’s biggest AIDS clinic.

Now wider studies targeting 12 different types of cancer are being held at 3 Israeli medical centers. However, the newly developed drug will be given to patients selected on compassionate grounds.

Until now, the available HIV drugs have been able to cut the growth of the disease. They were also unable to completely eliminate it like the Israeli treatment. Meanwhile, Gamora has another incredible feature as it affects only the infected cells and not the healthy ones.

This means that there won’t be any severe consequences resulting from the existing drugs. This therapy is a result of a collaboration between a professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He discovered the active ingredient and the Zion Pharmaceutical company, which is now developing it.
