Media Starting To Go After Manchester United Striker Mason Greenwood

Manager at Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says the English media has started going after Mason Greenwood. The forward has missed United’s last two games amidst speculation that he has repeatedly turned up late for training.

This comes Greenwood was dropped from the England squad for his public indiscretion in September. This happened during the team’s trip to Iceland.

Solskjaer said Mason Greenwood made a mistake this summer with England and suddenly the whole English press decided to go after him.

“I have to disappoint you (media); Greenwood is never late for training. He is never a problem when he is on the training ground. He is always on time. I have seen the stories and some ex-United players talking about him and they don’t know what they are talking about,’’ Solskjaer said.

He also said there are always photographers outside the training ground every day and they see him arriving on time. The origin of these stories is oblivious to him.

Greenwood has a good family behind him and has a good background at the academy according to Solskjaer. He says Greenwood is a good trainer and he cannot believe all these stories about him being unprofessional.

The manager said it is a possibility that Greenwood could be available for Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea at Old Trafford. Skipper Harry Maguire is also likely to play the game.

A decision on the new signing, Edinson Cavani who has not played a game since March will be made later today.
