Ministry Of Public Service To Go Paperless

Effective next year Ministry of Public service will go paperless. The move according to Ministry of Public Service Permanent Secretary Catherine Bitarakwate this will  improve service delivery and accountability both at civil servants and public offices.

“We are going digital in public service delivery. This will improve public service efficiency and accountability in the general civil service sector,” she said.

The exercise has taken ministry of public service over 10 years and it’s anticipated to improve efficiency and accountability on public service governance and service delivery.

This was revealed by Bitarakwate  at this year’s  annual senior planning and management team retreat in Kampala under the theme: building a high performing  effective, productive and efficient public service.

Catherine said electronic public service as top priority of the ministry will be implemented in the national development plan three.

“We failed to achieve 100% of Public service delivery in second national development plan two because of funding gaps but we have focused on electronic public service and aligned  our programmes to ensure we achieve 100 % in implementing national development plan three, “she said.
