Wilfred’s personal belongings were found untouched, his mobile phone was however missing.
Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for Mathira East Mutinda Nicholas explained that the circumstances leading to Wilfred’s death are under investigation. This is according to the mobile phone signals traced to Mwea, Kirinyanga County.
Mathira East DCI chief detective Nicholas Mutinda found a vehicle belonging to the deceased abandoned at Gatiki bridge along Karatina-Mukurweini road.
Officer Mutinda further revealed that the deceased’s personal documents and ATMs were all intact, pointing to a ossible murder.
“The police initially thought that the missing businessman took his own life. But now, we might rule out this theory,” Nicholas told Daily Nation.
“We are waiting for data from mobile service providers to establish which line of investigation to take,” he added.
Authorities too the deceased’s body to Karatina Jamii General Hospital Mortuary. Detectives are still continuing with investigations into the incidence.
