A mother and daughter have made history by becoming the first mother-daughter pair to fly a commercial plane known as Skywest Airlines together. The lady identified as Captain Garrett Suzzy appeared in the cockpit with her daughter.
The revelation was made by the female marketer on LinkedIn, who shared an inspirational photo of a woman and her daughter in the cockpit.
Captain Darrett was among the twelve female pilots hired at Skywest Airlines, a female marketer revealed. She has been flying planes for more than 30 years.
The lady’s story also inspired LinkedIn users who quickly flooded the comment text area to congratulate them.
José Manuel Peix López wrote:
“Congratulations to both of you ladies, you are a reference for many other millions of women around the world. To achieve the objectives and what we desire, everything depends on attitude, hard work and perseverance.”
Chatelain Julia -van der Valk commented:
“What a great example of the importance for girls to have strong female role models. One of the reasons why my company focuses on the development of female leadership. So that our daughters can spread their wings and fly!”
Buchli E. Philipp, however, said both pilots should be discouraged due to the risk involved.
“Don’t want to rain on the parade, but from a risk perspective this should be ruled out given potential adverse power dynamics in the event of emergency. Those aware of the same problem due to cultural issues in Asian carriers in particular will be aware of this issue. The problem has led to several fatal crashes and the aviation regulators and carriers had to address it.
