Museveni Campaigns For NRM Flag Bearer For Hoima Woman MP Seat

On the second day of rallying support for the NRM flag-bearer for the Hoima Woman MP seat, Harriet Businge Mugenyi Akiiki, president Museveni addressed two rallies in Bugahya County and Boma Grounds in the municipality.

The core mission of the NRM has been to cause social-economic transformation premised on peace, unity and values like non-secterianism. I am glad that in multi-ethnic places like Hoima, this unity message has caused peaceful co-existence of many tribes,’he said.

This unity has enabled the government focus on development like infrastructure, energy, building health centres and schools, since we do not have to spend on fighting insecurity–a very big cost if you look at countries afflicted by wars.

For Bunyoro sub-region, a lot is happening in terms of infrastructure. We have fully tarmacked Kaiso-Tonya road, while working on the Kigumba-Hoima-Kyenjonjo road. Others are Buhimba-Nalweyo-Kakumiro-Mubende road and the Kabaale-Kiziranfumbi one,’said Museveni.

We are also doing well on the health and education fronts. Therefore, the NRM has a positive trail of what has been done or achieved, we are not talking about what we shall do, but what we have done.

By voting an NRM candidate, the voters will be backing these achievements and enabling further development. Take the example of electricity. In 2006, I had to get approval of Parliament to increase funding to the sector, reason you see the strides we are making. NRM MPs are pro-development. Vote Harriet Mugyenyi Akiiki,’he added.
