President Museveni while on his Facebook page assured Ugandans that COVID-19 will be slowed down at the bottom if the three East African countries come up with one common solution to weaken the virus.
However, the solution for cargo truck drivers was figured and will be used to control the pandemic that was rising at a faster rate. Museveni further hinted that he also tried to discuss with John Pombe Magufuli but on a slightly different subject matter.
“I had a very long discussion on the phone with H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E Paul Kagame regarding truck drivers. I also talked to H.E John Pombe Magufuli on a slightly different subject. However, President Kenyatta and President Kagame agreed that we can have a common plan for truck drivers.”
Initially, the Ugandan president had exempted cargo truck drivers operating within and outside the country, but the government finally realized they are the top importers of the deadly virus. Increasing cases from cargo truck drivers have indeed shocked Ugandans, who are currently confined at their homes and worried what to eat.
