Museveni To Open Muslim Youths Conference

President, Yoweri Museveni is expected to open the international Muslim Youths conference scheduled for 26th – 27th April 2019 at Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala.

2nd Deputy Mufti of Uganda Shk. Muhamad Waiswa told the media in a briefing at Uganda Muslim Supreme Headquarters Old Kampala.

The conference is organized by Uganda Muslim Supreme Council in conjunction with the World Muslim Communities Council under the theme; “Role of Muslim Youths in the Africa of Tomorrow.”

The conference will be graced by 500 participants and Muftis from 25 African Countries including the host country Uganda.

Among the countries that have confirmed participation include; Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Malawi, DR Congo, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Senegal, Mozambique, Egypt and South Africa.

According to Muhammad the conference will raise awareness among Muslim youths about the significance of their role in the sustainable development of Africa.

“Participants will also draw lessons of peaceful co-existence of members of different faith groups based on Uganda’s success story of the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda-IRCU,” Sheikh Waiswa said.

The Muftis will also hold a side meeting under their umbrella organization; African Forum for Muslim Councils (AFMC) whose head office is at the UMSC Headquarters Old Kampala, under the leadership of the Mufti of Uganda,  Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje and Executive Secretary, Dr. Ebraheem Ssali.
