‘’We have got a lot of delays by this parliament. Sometimes I am polite and I don’t want to get political problems. That’s why I don’t want to talk so much. I have been begging as if the projects are mine,’’ Museveni said.
The president made these remarks at the closing ceremony for the ruling NRM party at the Ngoma state lodge in Nakaseke district.
He further said to the newly elected MPs of the 11th parliament that many projects that could have benefited the country have failed to commence.
The reason he gave is that the parliament has failed to release the necessary funds to facilitate these various projects.
One of these projects is the anti-tick vaccine currently being developed at Makerere University led by Dr. Margaret Saimo-Kahwa. He said this project requires shs22 billion worth of investment which the parliament has ignored.
He said these delays need to immediately stop and everyone should play their part because all these projects benefit everyone.
Furthermore, the president asked the new MPs to deviate from thinking of their counterparts in the 10th parliament and support projects meant for the benefit of Ugandans.
