My Life Is In Danger – Bobi Wine Says While Appearing On CNN

Opposition party NUP leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out to tell the whole world how his life is in danger.

He made this revelation while appearing in an interview with American cable news network, CNN.

The former legislator is in the US for official party duties. He took off some time to air out his grievances on the big screen.

He was questioned about the incidents that happened prior to and after the January 14th general election.

Kyagulanyi said that just like all the other elections organised by the regime every after 5 years, the recent one too was characterised by massive fraud.

He asserted that he had won the election with a percentage of over 85%.

This is beacuse according to him, majority of Ugandans are below the age of 35 years and they voted for him.

Bobi Wine talked about switching off the internet

He said the switching off the internet and his house arrest just after he had voted said a lot about the election.

The moderator further questioned his safety since he was now very influential in the country.

Kyagulanyi replied that it was true he was not safe but so are a majority of other Ugandans.

“It’s true my life is in danger but so is the life of other Ugandans who voted me. I got over 85% of the vote and here I am giving you their voice. There is massive abuse of human rights in Africa and particularly Uganda.”

Bobi Wine went ahead to plead with the US to stop funding what he termed dictatorial governments in Africa.

He said that it was contradictory and hypocritical for the US to condemn abuse of democracy but continue funding these regimes.

The youthful politician asserted that the US could further it’s interests too through democratic leaders.

He added that Africans were hopeful that one day dictatorship will be a thing of the past in the Continent.

Bobi Wine also said that Africa should be at the same level of human rights as the Western countries that fund these governments.
