Nasser al- Wuhaishi Yemeni al-Qaeda leader confirmed dead in US strike

The Yemen al- Qaeda leader Sheik Abu Basir Nasser al-Wuhaishi was killed in a US strike with other two fighters said by OmarBaterfi the al- Qaeda’s spokes person and he also says that the deceased leader was formerly arrested and survived an assassination attempt.

Nasser al- Wuhaishi was a Yemen native from the province of Abeen south-east of the capital of Sanaa

He also headed the armed group in the Arabian peninsula since 2009 at an estimated age of 37 years.

Wuhaishi started training in Afghanistan in 1990 and become close to Osama Bin Laden where he started to aid, manage finances and also handle the personal issues of Osama and became his secret keeper. In 2010 he was named as the most dangerous member of the al- Qaeda by the UN security council.

Qassim al –Raymi former military chief is said to have replaced Wuhaishi but according to Hisham al- Omeisy aYemen analyst in sanaa said that the new leader is more dangerous and aggressive than Nasser al- Wahaishi which makes the armed group a dangerous group.

 Raymi is the master-mind behind huge operations like the US Embassy attack in Sanaa in 2008, assassination attempt against the defence minister in Saudi Arabia and also several attacks on military officials in Yemeni.
