The money was paid back by the officers in two installments of 730,000 and 885,000 respectively.
RDC says a majority of the beneficiary groups whose money was stolen have confirmed having received the money in their accounts.
Last week, RDC John Stephen Ekoom met these technical officers and directed them to refund the money with immediate effect or else be jailed.
The officers on spotlight include, CAO (Lawrence Wadada) Mackay Otai (focal point person), the CFO (Charles Elungat), Priscila Asio (Dist Panner), Jacob Oluka (Production officer) and others.
Some of the beneficiary members who preferred anonymity said, they started receiving money in installments in their accounts on Friday.
Locals in Ngora district are asking govt to take further action on all the district officers involved in stealing their money for PDM.
“Such officers should be arrested and arraigned before court to answer charges of embezzlement, corruption, misuse and abuse of office. We do not want to see such officers again in office.
President Museveni should listen to our concerns. We are tired of govt officers sabotaging government programs meant to fight poverty in our households and yet they earn salaries monthly. Tougher action should be taken”, Asekenye Margie said.
Meanwhile, locals are happy with the RDC describing him as an action man.
