The West African country, Nigeria has now taken over India to be the world’s number one Nation with the highest number of people with too much poverty, according to a report conducted by Brookings Institution, according to Vanguard ngr.

India used to hold this position before with the population of about 1.324 people against Nigeria with 200 million people.
The number of Nigerians living in too much poverty increases by 6 people every single minute, according to report.
An estimate in the report which was read says that Nigeria already overtook India as the Nation with the largest number of people with extreme poverty earlier this year and DR Congo might take over very soon.
End of May 2018, our approach shows that the west African country has approximately 87 million people living in extreme poverty compared to India which has 73 million. The percentage of the poorest people in Nigeria is growing while poverty in India is continuing to drop.
The study shows that by the end of 2018, Africa as a whole will be having approximately more 3.2 million people living in too much poverty than it is today.
As of March, The international Monetary Fund ( IMF ) said the Nigerian people are getting poorer and there’s need for comprehensive and reasonable economic improvement.
