The Muliro singer had come out sometime back to declare how she had quit drugs. These drugs had completely derailed her life and music career.
She even started an organization aimed at helping musicians into rehab and finally quitting drugs.
Nina, real names Kankunda Nina even thanked singer and producer Daddy Andre for helping her overcome her drug addiction problem.
This was a time when the two were still married and on good terms. However, Andre cited that Nina had relapsed back to using drugs a thing that had catalysed their break up.
Nina who was on almost a seven-month streak from doing drugs last year warned people to stay away from drugs.
“I had to come out and talk about my drug addiction so that I can help women out there, especially those using them. I thank my management, my friends and family for standing by me through this period.” Nina advised.
Nina came out and said during the three years she used the deadly drug, she felt mentally, physically and spiritually tortured. One of the artists she had started with in her organization was Gift of Kaddo. He apparently also had been destroyed by drugs and depression.
“I’m so honored and grateful to the Almighty to enable me to reach out to people wanting to make a change in their lives. Thank you to everyone that believes in me. And I believe together we can make a change about our health as artists. Don’t hesitate to reach to me if you are battling with drug addiction and you definitely want to know about your life on all my social media platforms.”
As it’s widely known, the road to attain self-control and get over addiction is a difficult one. We wish Nina all the best.
