“When we arrived in Seattle, we left for the hospital immediately after leaving our bags at the hotel. We were told to go in twos, but later the doctor said we could go in. When we reached the room, we noticed that he was breathing on his own. He had lost a lot of weight. We started calling his name in turns.”
He says the only time he heard Oulanyah say something, was when he was calling the Chief Justice by name.
“I heard him call the Chief Justice, Chigamoi. He opened his eyes. At some point, his eyes had a lot of sadness. He had tears in his eyes. He was wheeled out for 30 minutes and brought back. We were told that he could occasionally speak, I didn’t hear except once when he called the Chief Justice. The Minister of Health prepared us. He told us we were going to see Jacob worse than before.”
According to his take, they found the Speaker alive. Many people had said that probably the speaker had already died by the time people went to visit him.
However, Nobert says, the doctor told them Oulanyah would sleep away, something they prepared for.
