NRM Supporters Happy About Museveni’s Popularity In Rwanda

NRM supporters and leaders alike are all enthusiastic about President Museveni’s recent Rwanda visit especially the crowds that he pulled. The Ugandan President had taken quite a number of years without visiting the country.

He however made the maiden journey and was welcomed by mammoth crowds both to and fro. This was during the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali.

The president himself took to his Twitter page to appreciate the love shown to him by the Rwandese.

“Having participated in the closing session of the CHOGM, I returned home via the Katuna border post. I thank our Rwandan brothers and sisters for the warmth not only during my stay but also during my departure from Kigali to Gatuna. Murakoze Cyane, reka urukundo ruganze,” Museveni tweeted.

NRM supporters have been bragging about how the CiC portrayed his might and authority in the region. This is because there is barely a leader that received such a warm welcome as Museveni.

NRM spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa while appearing on NBS TV said that those who have been underrating Museveni were shocked by this development. Mulindwa added that people even left all they were doing just to catch a glimpse of the regional leader.

He also complimented the Rwandese organizational skills. This is because while running on the roads, none of these dared to step on the green glass planted by the authorities there unlike back in Uganda where it’s planted today and destroyed tomorrow by people.

Hygiene is an aspect that most Ugandans who went for the CHOGM summit appreciated Rwanda for. It even got NBS journalist Daniel Lutaaya clashing with his Twitter followers.

These actually told him to remain there since he had taken it a notch higher to rub Rwanda’s cleanliness into Ugandans’ faces.

Meanwhile, President Museveni arrived back in the country yesterday. He proceeded to hold a meeting with UPDF Service Chiefs at 401 Brigade Headquarters in Irenga, Ntungamo district.

Nobody outside knows the contents of the meeting. However, it came after reports that the Deputy CDF Lt Gen Elwelu put all troops on stand-by class 1, the highest level of military readiness.
