NUP supporters from abroad have organized a protest calling for the closure of funds to Uganda. According to them, the major purpose of these funds is to finance dictatorship.
The NUP social media team posted about this on their different social media platforms.
“Our comrades in the diaspora have organised peaceful protests calling out financial aid donors to stop funding the dictatorship through loans. Funds recieved to improve the social welfare of the citizens are instead used to oppress them, the rest lost thru corruption & embezzlement.”
Apparently, Bobi Wine is out of the country, and it must be true after reading this. According to the people close to him, he went out to get funds for his party since it’s a trying season.
Now that most people are not working, this must have forced him to look for other means for the party to stand. However, doesn’t this confirm Museveni’s claims that it’s people from abroad funding NUP?
Meanwhile, whether this is going to work or not, we are not sure. It may be really hard to fight something that is within from out.
Though, there is no denying that, some people have done this before. However, this calls for a lot of organization which doesn’t seem the case in NUP right now.
According to their post, this demonstration will take place at the International Monetary Fund Headquarters. Obviously, NUP Supporters will send the message home, since this is where most loans are processed for countries in need.
