By the time the eight rounds were up, Floyd hadn’t been able to throw a successful knockout punch at the YouTuber.
The match that happened at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, ended with no knockout, and no official winner.
The retired 5-weight champion Mayweather who went 50-0 in his career, took to the ring for the first time since 2018.
As for Logan Paul, this became his third time boxing having drawn an exhibition fight with fellow YouTuber KSI. He then fought the Briton professional in a rematch a year later and lost in points.
In the first round, Paul hesitated to throw much at Floyd as Mayweather also stayed on the outside to measure his opponent’s range.
Paul occasionally flicked out the jab as Mayweather offered infrequent counters. However, the YouTuber brought the heat on late as Mayweather shelled up.
More activity from the two came in the second round with the pair clinching in the third as Paul tried to use his size advantage to control Mayweather.
Both men landed punches in close before Mayweather started to smell blood. He started to land heavy punches as the frame came closer to its conclusion.
In the fourth round, Mayweather pressed forward with greater conviction as Paul only tried. The former champion then landed more heavy blows in the fifth round. By the time the bell sounded, Paul was only surviving through the fight after Mayweather secured a knockout.
‘’I had fun. He’s better than I thought he was. He’s a tough, rough competitor. I was surprised by him,’’ Floyd said after the fight.
As for Logan Paul, he said no one should ever tell him that anything is impossible ever again because everyone has it in them.
‘’Floyd Mayweather, it was an honor,’’ Paul said.
