Musician Tracy Kirabo aka Pia Pounds has taken to social media to express her disappointment in music analyst and critic Eddie Sendi. This is because of the comments he made about her singing abilities.
Apparently, Pia was one of the performers at Sheebah’s recently concluded concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval. However, the Tupaate singer did not convince some people, especially with her vocal abilities.
With a huge platform, Sendi used it to tell the former Big Talent singer that she was below par. And this is not the first time he’s telling her this. He’s told her to look for another career such as modeling.
A disappointed Pia Pounds through her X platform said that she was hurt by these remarks. The singer however said that she’s going to take these harsh words as constructive criticism.
“Mzee Sendi, your comment that Nyimba bubi hurt me so much but I’ll take it as constructive criticism and work towards growing as an artist. It’s important to note that there are many reasons why an artiste could sound bad on stage besides being untalented,” she said.
Additionally, the singer excused herself from this performance and others she has not been good at. The Taala singer said that there are many reasons why an artist might not sound good. She pointed out some things such as the poor sound system.
“Sound. Stage monitors. We can’t hear ourselves on stage. Mic check Eli ku doboozi lya muntu ayogera, mc! He’s talking with no music in the background. We leave the stage with our voices damaged. Etania Edoboozi lwakubye live! That’s because if you can’t hear yourself, you shout!”
Furthermore, she also said that even the song Sendi pointed out, Tupaate was recorded in low range. She therefore had to sing it as if she was talking.
